Cemetery Information
Algansee Township maintains its cemeteries as a peaceful and dignified resting place for our community members and their loved ones. Our grounds are open to the public daily from sunrise to sunset.
Burial Services and Policies
To ensure the orderly maintenance and beauty of our cemetery grounds, all burials are managed by the Township. We provide space for traditional interments as well as options for cremated remains. Please note that:
- Advance Notice: We require a minimum of 36 hours’ notice prior to any scheduled funeral or burial service.
- Markers and Memorials: All monuments and markers must comply with Township ordinances regarding size and material. We encourage families to coordinate with the Township Clerk’s office before ordering any headstones to ensure they meet current requirements.
- Maintenance: The Township is responsible for the ongoing care and preservation of the cemetery grounds.
Pricing and Inquiries
Current rates for burial spaces, opening and closing fees, and other administrative costs are set by the Township Board and are reviewed periodically.
Grave Site Costs
Resident: $125.00
Non-Resident: $550.00 (limit of two sites)
Grave Openings and Closings
Adult: $500.00
Child: $250.00
Infant Cremation: $150.00
Cremation: $300.00
Disinterment (Adult): $550.00
Additional Fees
Winter Opening (November 1 through March 31): Add $100.00
Saturday Burial: Add $100.00
Sunday Burial: Add $100.00
Grave Site Repair
New grave site: No cost
Old grave site: $25.00 per man hour (grass seed provided at the cost of the seed)
